Alex Al

is a man who has reached many milestones in his career as a musician. Alex made his debut in the music world with jazz great composer, guitarist Earl Klugh and trumpeter Marcus Belgrave at the age of 13. Since then, moving to L.A. at the age of 17. He has performed with over 70 top ten hit artists. You may know him as a world renown bassist, but one of the most exciting things abbut Alexs career is that he worn so many musical hats that nearly all have overlapped:songwriter, composer, producer, arranger, improviser and band leader. He is or has been all of those things and he has worked with some of the greatest names in music.

Having recorded with the likes of Stevie Wonder and Herbie Hancock. On Herbie's grammy award winning "gerswhin's world" ( Alex shows diversity little seen in todays musician), and by the age of 23 Alex was recording along side the arranger like of Joe Sample, Wayne Shorter, George Benson and Joni Mitchell to name a few. Recently Alex…..ded with Babyface on dru hill's hit "these are the times", which reached #1 on the r&b and pop charts according so billboard magazine. Not to mention other recordings with artists as diverse as: D.J. Quik, Al Jarreau, Tamia, Kirk Whalum, Color me badd, Norman Brown and the infamous Tupac Shukur. As a songwriter, Alex recently received a gold record for co-writing the composition "words unspoken" on Boney James "sweet thing" album, which is expected to go improviser platinum. He also co-wrote the single "Cruise control" on George Benson's current lp "standing together", which is near gold status! Now at the age of 26 and mastering over a dozen or so instruments, this producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist is in demand more than ever. Loaning his services out to the likes of: Quincy Jones, Luther Vandross, Diana Ross, Brandy, Shelia e., TLC, Shakira, and Ce Ce Winans, The Spice Girls, Jon Secada, Kenny G., country star Bryan Wilson and classical greats Jose Careras and Placido Domingo!

It would be difficult to find music in the western world that Alex Al hasn't been a part of as a musician, writer, arranger, performer and producer. Alex states humbly "if there are any common denominators in the blessings I have been fortunate enough to experience, they are musicality and spirit".
